Irexis Reviews and Side Effects: does it work?

Irexis is brought to us by Lab88, who is also the maker for diet pill “Metabospeed XXX”. If you browse through the official website of Irexis, you can read all about the company’s impressive commitments to product quality and customers service. However, Lab88 does not have the best reputation in supplement industry. Few years ago, the company got into trouble for fabricating testimonials and using others’ picture without their permissions (details here). This kind of settled the credibility issues.

So… Irexis can “guarantee rock hard male enhancement”. Other benefits include:

bigger, harder, stronger erections;
greater control over orgasms;
starts working within 20 minutes;
and so on.

Before we proceed, let’s take a look on comparison between Irexis vs Vigrx Plus, our top choice:

Of course, the question is: does Irexis work as advertised? The thing is, despite the hype and wild claims, there’s no clinical evidence to validate the effectiveness of Irexis. As the product is marketed as dietary supplements, it does not need to undergo vigorous testing like prescription drugs.

So what’s inside Irexis?

Irexis contains 8 ingredients: Catuaba Bark, Muira Puama, Tribulus Terrestrials, Oyster extract, pumpkin seed, Ginseng blend, Zinc and Yohimbe extract. These ingredients are commonly seen in most male enhancement products. They may benefit your sexual health and overall well-being. The good thing is that the label of Irexis clearly listed the exact dosage of each ingredient, so there’s no guess work.

Nonetheless, I am quite cautious as Irexis contains Yohimbe extract, a controversial bark. Its active compound is called Yohimbine. Yohimbine is mostly found being used in male aphrodisiac preparations as many believe it can increase libido and boost testosterone. The problem with Yohimbine is that it’s hard to determine the effective dose, as the potency depends on number of factors, including: what part of the tree it comes from, how it’s cultivated, how it’s exported, and so on. Each serving of Irexis contains 500mg, but you can’t tell if the dosage is effective or not because no other information is given.

According to Prescription for Nutritional Healing, the therapeutic index of Yohimbine is quite low. The range between an effective dose and a dangerous dose is very narrow. Depending on dosage, Yohimbine can results in these side effects: nervousness, irritability, insomnia, headache, skin flushing, anorexia, nausea, gastric distress, diarrhea, vomiting, palpitations, tachycardia, dyslexia, pain, increased blood pressure, dizziness, sweating, weight gain, constipation, and anxiety.

More serious adverse effects may include seizures and renal failure. And, Yohimbine should not be consumed by anyone with liver, kidney, heart disease, or a psychological disorder. In extreme cases, overdose of Yohimbine may cause death.

Due to its complication, FDA has included Yohimbe bark in list of dangerous supplements.

Another featured ingredient of Irexis is Tribulus Terrestris. Marketers claim that it can help to boost testosterone level, thus increasing muscle mass and libido. However, a recent study reported in  Journal of Ethnopharmacology  concluded that Tribulus Terrestris has failed to increase testosterone levels in controlled studies. In another study on Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, it has also failed to demonstrate strength-enhancing properties.

Bottom line?

Irexis seems like a “OK” product, but unfortunately, the benefits of its key ingredient, Yohimbe Bark are far from promising. Also, the ethnics and credibility of the company is somewhat questionable. For these reasons, I’d hesitate to try Irexis.
